How My Travel Strategy & Designing Services Work

1. What exactly do you do?


I help travelers turn ideas, questions, and wish-lists into well-designed, intentional travel experiences—without the overwhelm.


Depending on the level of service you choose, my role may include:

  • helping you clarify what you actually want from a trip

  • guiding key decisions like destinations, pacing, and priorities

  • designing a custom itinerary and curated recommendations

  • and, when appropriate, assisting with booking and execution


Some clients want expert guidance while they plan. Others want a thoughtfully designed trip handled for them. Many fall somewhere in between. My role is to meet you where you are—and elevate the experience.


2. How is this different from working with a traditional travel agent?


Traditional travel agents often focus primarily on booking.
My work begins before anything is booked.


As your Travel Designer & Advisor, I focus on:

  • understanding your travel style, goals, and constraints

  • designing an experience that reflects you—not a template

  • offering perspective and strategy so decisions feel clear, not rushed


When booking support makes sense, I can provide it. When it doesn’t, you’ll still walk away with a clear, confident plan and expert guidance.


3. Why would I hire you instead of planning on my own?


Because planning a meaningful trip takes more than good research skills—it takes perspective.


Clients come to me when they’re:

Guided Travel Strategy — $495
Best if you want expert perspective while staying actively involved in planning.

Bespoke Travel Planning — starting at $1,495
Ideal if you want a thoughtfully designed itinerary without doing the heavy lifting.

  • A fully customized itinerary curated to your travel style

  • Daily recommendations for experiences, dining, and logistics

  • Strategic guidance throughout the planning process to ensure everything flows beautifully


Signature Journey — starting at $2,495
For travelers who want a high-touch, concierge-level experience.

  • A deeply personalized travel experience with elevated design and detail

  • Ongoing advisory support, curated recommendations, and thoughtful extras

  • Priority access and hands-on guidance from vision through execution


6. How long does the process take?


Timelines vary depending on the service level and complexity of your trip, but here’s a general guide:

  • Guided Travel Strategy: typically completed within 3–4 weeks

  • Bespoke Travel Planning: most clients begin 9–14 months before travel, with planning taking approximately 5–8 weeks

  • Signature Journey: best suited for trips planned 9+ months out, with a more in-depth design process that unfolds over 6–9 weeks


We’ll always align timing with your travel goals and priorities.


7. Can I still be involved in the planning process?


Absolutely.


My approach is collaborative by design. I guide you through key decisions, help you weigh options, and offer expert perspective—so the trip reflects you, without the stress of managing every detail.


If you already have ideas, inspiration, or must-see experiences in mind, we’ll incorporate them thoughtfully. From there, I’ll help shape everything into a cohesive plan that feels intentional and effortless.

Booking & Support

8. Do you book travel for me?


Yes—I’m happy to assist with booking across all service levels.


For Bespoke Travel Planning and Signature Journey, booking hotels, key experiences, and logistics is typically part of the process, allowing everything to flow seamlessly from the itinerary we’ve designed together.


For Guided Travel Strategy, booking support is also available for select components—just share your plan with me. The focus of this service is still strategic guidance and decision-making, but I’m always glad to step in and handle bookings where it adds ease and clarity.


One added benefit of booking through me is access to preferred partner perks when available—thoughtful extras like daily breakfast, room upgrades, or on-property credits that can quietly enhance your stay. While not guaranteed, these benefits often come at no additional cost and are one of the many ways I help make a well-designed trip feel even more special. 


9. What happens if my plans change after things are booked?


Travel is dynamic, and flexibility matters.


I design itineraries with thoughtful pacing and options, and I’ll always recommend strategies that help you stay adaptable, including:

  • refundable or flexible bookings when possible

  • travel insurance for added peace of mind

  • alternate recommendations so you can pivot if needed


Because each booking is handled by a third-party supplier, cancellation and change policies vary by hotel, airline, and experience. I’ll make sure you understand those terms before anything is finalized, so you can make informed decisions with confidence.


My goal is for you to feel prepared—not locked into something that no longer fits.


10. Do you offer support while I’m traveling?


I don’t offer on-call concierge services, but I do make sure you’re well prepared before you depart.


Depending on your service, support may include:

  • a detailed itinerary with clear logistics and backup ideas

  • digital tools such as maps, apps, and destination resources

  • a post-trip follow-up to reflect, refine, and plan what’s next


The intention is simple: you travel confidently, without needing to check in constantly.


11. Who is this service best for?


My services are a great fit for travelers who:

  • want a personalized, thoughtfully designed travel experience

  • value expert perspective but don’t want to do everything alone

  • care about pacing, intention, and meaningful experiences

  • want travel to feel easeful—not overwhelming


This may not be the right fit if you’re looking for:

  • pre-set group tours or one-size-fits-all packages

  • bargain-only travel planning with little flexibility

  • 24/7 concierge support while traveling
